The Customer
The International Center on Nonviolent Conflict (ICNC) is an independent, nonprofit educational foundation. It promotes the study and utilization of nonmilitary strategies by civilian-based movements to establish and defend human rights, social justice and democracy.
In 2017 Raccoon Gang won ICNC’s tender by offering a custom LMS based on Open edX technology.
Tasks
- Diverse social learning tools that help learners to interact during the learning process: peer-to-peer assignments, forums, likes, follows, etc.
- Ability to import content of various formats, including SCORM.
- Self-paced and fixed-schedule course pacing options.
- Tools to keep learners engaged, and to reduce learners’ attrition to a minimum.
- Multi-language support: English, Spanish, French, Russian.
- Robust security: SSL, data backup, anti-spam, penetration defense, two-factor authentication.
Easy access for users from developing countries:
offline mode to mitigate slow or interrupted internet connection.
Mobile application that replicates most vital features available on the Web application.
Migrate all content from the previous LMS.

Solutions
Raccoon Gang developed a convenient e-learning platform that meets all customer’s requirements.
Since 2017, we maintain and continuously improve the platform, setting up new content and functional blocks (xBlocks), fine-tuning the platform, so it is always up to date.
Our team adapted the learning content for the new platform and mapped it according to the Open edX course structure.
The platform is flexible from the new customizations, new server operating systems, and new programming language versions perspective.
Customized Mobile App allows intuitive preloading of content for offline learning (text, video, HTML, PDF, SCORM).
These reports have been built based on the vital experience data provided by ICNC: tens of thousands of data points related to the learning experience of thousands of users that have been gathered for several months. An in-depth analysis of the data helped us to identify patterns and customize RG Analytics reports according to ICNC’s needs.
